Zepher is the code name for the Z-U130 solid state drive developed by Intel and announced to the public March 2007.
Zepher is available in 1GB, 2GB, and 4GB densities and communicates via SCSI
mass storage protocol over USB. Z-U130 was introduced by Intel in 2007 and is
Intel‘s first solid state drive since the 1994 Parallel ATA project. Zepher uses
a third party controller and 72nm SLC Intel‘s NAND flash memory. The controller contains 4 bit BCH error
correction and a dual channel flash interface providing 20MB/s write and 28MB/s
read performance.
