Installing TUSC for HP-UX 11.00, 11.11,11.23,11.31(PA-RISC and Itanium) on the fly as a non-root user (文档 ID 314533.1)
APPLIES TO:
ALL PRODUCT ACCESS - Version:
HP-UX PA-RISC (64-bit)
HP-UX PA-RISC (32-bit)
HP-UX Itanium
GOAL
The goal of this document is to help an Oracle user who does not have root permission get the TUSC trace utility installed on the HP-UX 11.0/11.11/11.23/11.31 server that does not have the TUSC tracing utility so that they can use TUSC to trace
operating system calls in support of an Oracle related issue.
SOLUTION
1. Do ‘which tusc‘ and verify that tusc is not already on the box. Also check /usr/bin and /usr/sbin directories for it
2. On a Windows PC via web browser go to the following link:
http://hpux.cs.utah.edu/hppd/hpux/Sysadmin/tusc-7.8/
3. The next few steps detail how to obtain TUSC for 11.11 (PA-RISC), please substitute your particular HP version and architecture type accordingly. In the following row on the webpage, click on the HTTP link
with the right mouse button to do a "Save Target as ..." and browse to a location that is easy to locate and save the file :
HP-UX 11i v1
(HP-UX 11.11) |
PA-RISC
(64-bit) |
Gzipped
Binary Depot |
151 K | 25 Sep 2004 |
4. Open a Command window and ftp to the HP server and set the ftp session into binary mode by typing "bin" and also "cd /tmp" and go to the location on the PC by doing a "lcd <location of the tusc file>"
5. ftp> put tusc-7.8-hppa-11.11.depot.gz
6. On the HP server go to the /tmp directory: $ cd /tmp
7. $ gunzip tusc-7.8-hppa-11.11.depot.gz
8. $ tar xvf tusc-7.8-hppa-11.11.depot
9. $ cd /tmp/tusc/tusc-RUN/usr/local/bin
10. Now you can run tusc against a process, e.g.
$ tusc -aefo /tmp/tusc.out sqlplus ‘/ as sysdba‘
NOTE: Since the location of the TUSC files in this example is in /tmp directory please be aware that they can be removed by the operating system at anytime. If you wish for them to be permanent then you need to move the tusc-7.8-hppa-11.11.depot.gz
to a directory where you have permissions to create directories like your home directory "cd ~" and then perform steps 7 and above.
