As is vividly shown in the cartoon, our earth is feeling sick with huge amounts of rubbish and numerous smoking chimneys on her face. It reflects a serious problem: Environmental Degradation.
State leaders around the world have acknowledged and accpepted that we are likely to face a global environmental degradation over the next few decades. People‘s activities have exerted great pressure on the environment we are living in: air is polluted, the ecological system is disturbed and natural resources have been excessively used, especially in emerging ecnomies like China and India. I believe governments can implement a number of practices to ease impending environmental degradation. These include the promotion of environmental-firendly proctices, restrictions on energy use, and the provision of incentives for alternative energy.
It would be impossible to solve the environment problem overnight and unforunately, it is likely to worsen before it begins to improve. Overcoming the environmental degradation will be a difficult task, and one that will require not only the efforts of each government, but also participation of every sectr of society. Those countries that realize the grave seriousness of the environmental degradation and work to alleviate/??li?vie?t/ it will reap the benefits for their economy, environment and people.
